Tom Marreel Honored as 2008 Board Member of the Year
Highly regarded for his years of hard work and dedication to the community, Thomas E. Marreel, former Senior Vice President of Business Development for Schaller Anderson Incorporated and current President of T. Marreel and Associates, has been acknowledged by the CHW Foundation - East Valley as the 2008 Board Member of the Year. Marreel has been a Board member since July 1, 2006, and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Foundation Board.
Marreel is only the third person to receive this prestigious award and was elected by a vote of his Board peers for his strong commitment and exceptional service to the CHW Foundation - East Valley. While on the Board, Marreel has proven to be an essential member through personal financial contributions, as well as his commitments of time in co-chairing events such as Laughter is the Best Medicine and the Drive for Mercy/George Rozsa Golf Classic.
“As a Board member and decision maker, it is my responsibility to make sure that we at the CHW Foundation - East Valley do whatever we can to make sure the community’s healthcare needs are met,” said Marreel. “The East Valley is growing so rapidly, and it is imperative that we operate at our fullest potential. We owe it to the community to be the best.”
Marreel will co-chair the fifth annual fundraising gala, Laughter is the Best Medicine, with Board member Robb Lipsey. Since its inception, the gala has raised more than $1,000,000 for Chandler Regional Medical Center. This year’s gala will be held on November 1, 2008, at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort with entertainer Mark Russell. “Tom’s profound knowledge of the medical field and commitment to the community fuels us to fulfill our integral role as the East Valley leader in healthcare,” said Board Chair Jim Hayden. “Board members, like Tom, give me the utmost confidence in our ability to accomplish anything we set our sights on. Tom is truly a gem that believes in Catholic Healthcare West’s core mission and vision, and uses those values to make sure the community has a better quality of life.”
