Mike Palermo Honored at 2010 Board Member of the Year
The foundation has named Mike Palermo of Chandler as its Board Member of the Year for 2010. “We have been the beneficiary of Mike’s dedication, service and counsel for the past four years,” said Rich Frazier, vice-president and executive director of the foundation “We are proud to show our gratitude and honor his efforts to make our community a healthier place to live.”
The fifth recipient of the Board Member of the Year Award, Palermo was selected by a vote of his board peers in recognition for his service and dedication to the foundation. In the last four years, Palermo has twice chaired one of the organization’s major annual events, the George Rozsa Golf Classic. He also has served on the finance committee and hosted several Founders Circle meetings.
Palermo was introduced to the foundation by friends and caught the vision of the organization’s mission. He saw his involvement as a way he could give back to the community, and recognizes that no one man can achieve as much as a group of people working toward a common goal.
“I’ve been very lucky to work with such a great, hardworking group, many of whom have become friends,” said Palermo. “The foundation allows us as individuals to support and participate in growing programs, research, and in the end the best hospital for our community. It’s something we all are proud of, and it benefits everyone it touches.”
