Every gift received at the Dignity Health Foundation East Valley makes a difference. New programs. New facilities. New hope. During the past five years, through your generous contributions, more than $8.5 million has been transferred to Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert Medical Centers. Collectively, your gifts are helping to enhance the quality of care and the breadth of services we provide to our community.
Chandler Regional Medical Center Growth and Innovation
Last year alone, Dignity Health Foundation East Valley provided approximately $1 million to Chandler Regional Medical Center to fund projects that elevate the quality of care available to our patients. This money allowed the hospital to:
• Purchase leading-edge equipment for the cardiac catheterization lab
• Support continuing medical education for physicians, nurses and clinical staff to ensure they are well versed in newest advances in medicine
• Enhance patient experiences such as the expansion of the Diabetes Center, which helps patients learn how to better self-manage their diabetes.
Chandler Regional Medical Center is proud of our history in the East Valley community. We are exceedingly grateful for the support we have received since opening our doors 50 years ago. Chandler Regional has grown along with the community from a facility with 40 beds to the 225-bed hospital it is today, recognized for excellence and an important part of the Chandler community.
Mercy Gilbert Medical Center Tower B Expansion
Thanks to the generosity of our neighbors, Dignity Health Foundation East Valley raised more than $5 million during the Gilbert Investing For Tomorrow (G.I.F.T.) campaign. These donations were used to increase Mercy Gilbert Medical Center’s capacity from 88 beds to 212 during our first four years and to add new services, including our growing orthopedics department. We also have opened a Neurosciences program, featuring our newly accredited Stroke Center. And, recently we celebrated the opening of the Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation Rehabilitation Center to better serve our orthopedic and neuroscience patients.
Gila River Indian Community Healing Garden at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center
The Gila River Indian Community Healing Garden is a place where patients and their loved ones, employees and community members are invited and encouraged to find solace, serenity and reprieve. The garden is the result of a friendship between Mercy Gilbert Medical Center and the Gila River Indian Community – two entities with a shared philosophy of surrounding patients, families and our community in an atmosphere of healing the body, mind, and spirit through the natural healing powers of the Earth. Opportunities exist within the garden to celebrate or honor someone special through a donation featuring their name or a commemorative message.
